Idea Reality Check

Have an idea for an app or tool? Describe it below. In a few seconds we scan GitHub and Hacker News to see what already exists. You get a score, similar projects, and three ways to make your idea different.

What is this?

A free, no-login way to sanity-check an idea before you spend time building it. You type your idea; it scans GitHub and Hacker News for projects and discussion close to yours, then scores how crowded the space is on a 0-100 reality signal.

You get three things: what already exists (real, clickable projects), how busy the space is (the score + trend), and three ways to take your idea further: ideas aimed at gaps the scan found, so you can stand out instead of building another copy.

How it works

1

Describe your idea

One or two sentences in plain English about the tool you're picturing.

2

We scan the sources

We search GitHub and Hacker News in parallel for projects and discussion close to your idea.

3

Get your reality signal

A 0-100 score, the closest existing projects (clickable), and three ways to take it further.
